The treatment of blood cancer is improving day by day with the application of modern inventions and advanced techniques. CAR T cell therapy is one such intervention which has created a buzz around the world as one of the most successful gene therapy for cancer. It is gene therapy for cancer, living medicine for long term cure and most advanced immunotherapy for blood cancer.

Though it really costs in crores in western world, the indigenous version created by TMH Mumbai in collaboration with IIT Mumbai has brought down the cost of therapy significantly.

Recently, in the event of CGAPICON, the annual conference of Chhattisgarh Association of Physicians in India, at Raipur, on 21st December 2025, Dr Dibyendu De elaborated the nuances of application of CAR T cell therapy in our population and his own practical experiences in a invited talk on 'CAR T CELL therapy: what physician should know'. He also illustrated his own practical experiences of using CAR T cell therapy, which provides a long term cure for multiple relapsed leukemia and lymphoma patients.

Dr Dibyendu also judged and encouraged young post graduate students who presented their research work in the conference.
